After another wet week the pitches are Vandals were unplayable so the fixture was moved to Richmond Park and thankfully went ahead. After an early start for players travelling from Warlingham and Sutton for the Surrey side, play commenced in the sunshine and Park Vandals were quickly into their attacking stride with a long run up the side of the pitch from either Eric or Hadrian to score in the corner. The big difference this week compared to last week was competitive scrums with the Park Vandals pack determined to show they could compete - against another large pack. Scrums were fairly even throughout and there were a lot - the front 5 from each side certainly put maximum effort in.

One area which the home team stood out though was their ability to put some passing moves together and create space for their outside backs. Several tries came from passing at the right time, good off-loading and good support. The pack continued to compete hard at the breakdown and give the backs a good supply of clean ball. A lovely blind side break from Casey saw him sprint in from the half way line, just out-pacing the defence.

The Surrey side continued to compete hard, and their hard running forwards were unlucky not to score towards the end of the match. Park Vandals were able to hold them out and clear their lines from the defensive scrum. The combined side, playing for only their second time together now have a short break before playing Welsh Ironsides on 1 March. Credit to the lads who have bonded in a very short space of time and quickly adapted to playing with a completely new set of players.
