Next Saturday 20th September is going to be another very busy day at Brownacres. Our 1st XV have been drawn to play Gosport & Fareham in the Papa John’s national cup competition. We have a had many tough battles against Gosport over the years particularly in the early ‘noughties and I’m sure next week will be no exception.
As well as our 1st XV cup game our Valkyries section are going to be holding a RWC semi final watch party. This watch party celebrating the women’s rugby World Cup is open to girls of all ages.
Things will kick off at 2pm with some fun games, crafting and a bbq before settling down in the marquee to cheers on England's Roses to the final. If you have a daughter or granddaughter who would like to take part then please bring them down the club next Saturday.
I was in a full stadium Brighton last Sunday watching a very impressive New Zealand team dismantle Ireland so I suspect the tournament will really come alive as we head into the Quarter finals this weekend.
Congratulations to Vandals regular and Weybridge resident Jess Breach who celebrated her 50th cap last weekend with a try against Australia.
We will be showing the England roses game in the bar this Sunday and we will definitely be showing the Final at the club on Saturday 27th.
