Andy Cosslett has been elected Chairman of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) board following the RFU Council meeting on 14th October.
He will take up the position with immediate effect replacing Bill Beaumont who took on the role of World Rugby Chairman earlier this year.
Andy previously held an independent non-exec director role on the RFU Board and was instrumental in the delivery of the largest Rugby World Cup in history as Chairman of England Rugby 2015.
“I am delighted to be appointed Chair of the RFU Board," said Cosslett. "It is a privilege to be involved with this game that has given me so much throughout my life.''
Andy has a lifelong association with the game and played the sport for 25 years. He was 1st team skipper in the 1980s and is currently a Vice President of Weybridge Vandals.
We wish Andy every success in his new role at the helm of English rugby.
