Peter Annett

Peter Wellden17 Aug 2015 - 09:56

It is with great regret that the Club announces the passing of Peter Annett, the greatest Vandal of all, who sadly died on 12th August, aged 79.

He was an iconic Vandal whose contribution to the Club spanned seven decades from the 1950’s. He was 1st XV Captain from 1961 to 1965 and President from 1987 to 1993.

Peter’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 25th August at 2pm at St. Mary’s Church Sunbury on Thames.

In keeping with his lifelong love of Jazz, his body will be taken in procession from his home to the church preceded by a traditional jazz band. New Orleans will come to Lower Sunbury.

The family are hoping that as many Vandals as possible will join in the procession starting at approximately 1.40pm from 77 Thames Street, close to his local watering holes “The White Horse” and “The Phoenix”.

After the service, the family only will go to the crematorium whilst everybody is invited to help celebrate Peter’s life at the club where refreshments will be available.

Flowers or donations to Macmillan c/o Lodge Brothers, 3-5, The Parade, Staines Road West, Middlesex TW16 7AB. Telephone: 01932 785402.

Please let John Mottram know if you are planning to come to the Club in order that we can ensure everybody is catered for. johnmottram@eaboss.co.uk. Mob: 07929093779.
