This Saturday our 1st XV play their first league game of the season when we welcome newly promoted Old Caterhamians RFC to the Island in a 3pm kick off.

We have had a welcome influx of new players during the off season and we have an ever growing contingent of Kiwi Vandals bringing their positive rugby culture to the club along with the welcome return of some of our players from University.

Our senior coaching team have run a great pre season and following successful squad warm up matches against Horsham and Old Reigatians everyone is chomping at the bit to get our new league campaign off to a flying start on Saturday!!.

Saturday is also our Annual Club Memorial lunch when we take time to remember Vandals who are sadly no longer with us. We will be remembering in particular those Vandals who have left us over the last twelve months notably Howard Bullett, Derek Hyatt, Jeff Rupert and Mark Astley .

As is now tradition we will be finishing the lunch early to walk down to the Memorial garden at 2.45pm prior to kick off to toast all those Vandals who have memorial trees or rose bushes in the garden. This year will be particularly poignant as we will be unveiling Howard Bullett Tree and plaque.

We have 90 people attending the lunch including Gary “Shabby” Nunez who is flying in from South Africa to pay his respects to his old mate Howie. Even if you’re not coming to the lunch please feel free to come and meet us down at the memorial garden before the game.
