Weybridge Vandals' netballers claim spoils in second trip to Fairmile Lane in as many weeks

Weybridge Vandals' netball captain Ellie Bicknell hailed her A team's 48-36 win at Cobham on Saturday as a sign of the resilience in her squad this term.

Vandals bounced back from a two goal defeat to the same opposition last weekend, with a dominant display at Fairmile Lane to lead from start to finish.

Bicknell's team jumped out to an early 15-9 lead and fended off a Cobham fight back to reach the halfway stage two goals to the good.

They held their nerve and a few tweaks in the attack saw them pull away in the final two quarters to win by a handsome 12-goal margin.

"The girls went out this morning determined to get the win," said Bicknell ahead of this weekend's trip to face Claygate at Three Rivers Academy.

"Cobham came back at us from six points down, but we held strong and with a couple of changes were able to capitalise on the defensive turnovers and pull away.

"Coming away with a 12 goal win compared to last week feels incredible and just goes to show the depth of this team to stay strong and come back determined to do better."

Elsewhere, the C team secured a 58-23 triumph over Tiffinettes at Nonsuch School, while there was a walkover triumph for the Bs.
