Head coach George Pickersgill hosts the latest session of Weybridge Vandals’ Coaching Development Programme at the club next week.
The former scrum half will cover kicking in the next hour-long event at Brownacres on November 11, with all coaching teams at the club encouraged to attend.
Minis chair Aaron Collins and junior chief Paul Stephens were among those to take the opportunity to mine the experience of forwards coach David Hoade last time out.
The experienced set-piece specialist broke down the art of scrummaging step-by-step; examined body position; and, worked on footwork in the drive during a practical session under the lights at the club on October 14.
“These sessions are not to be missed,” commented Stephens, who also took part in a session on the ‘Vandals Way’ and passing earlier in the season.
“The lessons on the scrum as a whole are nuggets that every single player at Vandals will benefit from.”
Next week’s session, the penultimate before Christmas, starts at 7pm. See you there.

Getting it right: Minis Chair Aaron Collins, right, keeps a tight reign on Tom Bromwich during the last CDP session on scrummaging
